Some Outdated and Updated B2B Marketing Tactics

Could any of you please tell me if you would bother to read only about the outdated marketing practices? I ask those who belong to the marketing sector if they can possibly invest time in reading about something that is outdated. That is why I have opted giving you updated practices as a part of the article.

When I say I am giving you something for this reason, it does not mean that I have a hidden reason and I will give you something else in return for money. Nevertheless, if a buyer reads it, he will think twice before acknowledging a B2B Marketer who uses outdated practices and strategies.

He will definitely have to wonder what makes this marketer use an age old practice. He will also have to wonder if the marketer thinks he (the buyer) is too much old fashioned for new strategies. The above illustration is rare to occur (which means it might at times) but also that it is highly imaginary and those are not possible repercussions of using those practices.

The practices are not the most outdated and they are simply overwhelmed by the new strategies and practices and the outdated practices still exist which shall give you good returns. Here we will see what those lead generation practices are:-

Direct Mail Marketing

One of the age old practices that might have been born during the birth of mailing and letter writing is the direct mail marketing (Again something that is imaginary). But then, before the advent of computers and the internet into the commercial, office space, direct mails could have been doing the job. The method is still in practice and still at times is an effective method to generate leads.

Trade Shows

Trade shows are not entirely killed but they are a form of outing, sightseeing, learning, infotainment etc. We look at trade shows as a kind of enthralling method to generate leads which can amuse customers more than that of any other practice. But this has been hibernating due to the recent recession and probably the current revival of the global economy might put this back on track.

Cost is the factor that led to the reduction in the number of tradeshows than it being an old fashioned one.

Emailing might not be the most effective of all but it is the one that incurs lesser cost and produces good results. The relationship between direct mailing and emailing is debated but both are worthwhile practices! Emailing is one among the widely used new practices!

This is one of the most effective sales methods and it converts the sales-ready customers so easily.
